What FOB Japan covers
FOB is the car loaded on the ship in Japan. Everything below is inside that figure; everything after it is a separate line you can see.
Inside FOB
- The car, or the winning auction bid
- The auction fee
- Japanese recycling fee, where not already included
- Inland transport from the auction to the yard, terminal or port
- Storage within the free period
- Port and terminal charges in Japan
- Deregistration from the Japanese register
- The Export Certificate
- Export customs clearance in Japan
- The exporter's agency or service fee
- The commercial invoice
- The bill of lading, issued after shipment
- Handover of the export documents and keys

- Ocean freight from Japan
- Marine insurance
- Discharge at the destination port
- Port charges in your country
- A local customs broker

Our 10 % commission is a separate line and is not the exporter's fee inside FOB. Freight, insurance and a mandatory destination inspection are not in FOB but are in our price to your port — each on its own line. Duty, VAT and clearance in your country are yours and we never quote them.
